Reflecting the National Register's own criterion of 50 years as the minimum age for qualification, American Landmarks recently adopted a new, less restrictive age criterion for our own listings. This change resulted from many recent requests by potential Sellers that we list higher quality homes built up into the 1950s, and in particular, from one appealing listing that we handled for a Lincoln couple referred to us by our good friends at Skinner Auctioneers. Located on a 13-acre parcel of woods and meadow, the house was designed in 1954 by noted architect and artist George W.W. Brewster to reflect time-honored building forms found in New England. Not only was its 6,000 square feet of floor area exceptional even by today's standards, but the house retains almost all its original trim and architectural features including five different types of flooring (bluestone, marble, slate, oak, and pine), original rolled steel doors and windows, and a period kitchen, updated but largely intact from the mid-1950s.
If your own residence dates to the 1950s or before, and it was architect-designed, we would be pleased to visit with you at your home to explain the unique marketing advantage we offer our American Landmarks clientele, and to provide you with a complimentary market assessment of your property. Please call Frederick Lyman (781) 729-5174 for an appointment.
